The Department of Strength and Fatigue of Materials and Structures specializes in material testing using standard machines. Such experimental studies can be used in determining the characteristics of the material, such as tensile strength, Young's modulus or hardness.

The Department has the following machines for standard material testing:

• tensile testing maschine MTS 850 of capacity 100 kN,
• tensile testing maschine Dartec of capacity 250 kN,
• universal optical system,
• other universal tensile testing machines, hardness testing machines.
